ROFL! Market Anarchist Website Destroys Families!

I'm not really a hard-core fan of Stefan Molyneux's Freedomain Radio. I think there's some excellent stuff on it (my favorite podcast is the one where he gives a fictitious speech to "the troops"), and I agree with many of his views, but I don't listen to him religiously or anything. I was always a bit put off by all the anti-family stuff on his site.

Now I know why....DAMN!

(Hat tip to the Mises forum.)

That article is just horrible. I have no idea what this Tom's situation is but that article just brushes off the problems with his family and acts like this just came out of the blue.

LOL fo sho.

I thought FDR was good, when discussing politics, anarchy, etc. He's certainly right about ignoring the people who bad influences on you in your life, but but when he starts that psycho-babble, I was always like "Why am I listening to this idiot? Just because his wife is a shrink?"

After reading Stefan's response and listening to a good chunk of the actual podcast, I'll go ahead and say that I might have reacted too quickly to this. The dude's dad (and family) clearly has issues that went beyond what was mentioned in the one-sided article.

Just because an article appears in a mainstream newspaper, it does not give it authority. Criticising Molyeunx's philosophy as "anti-family" appears both right-wing and paternalistic, as Tom has the rational ability to make decisions by himself. Though I disagree with some of Molyneux's tabula rasa view that the mind begins with a blank state, I do not see his philosophy as a "cult." The religious individuals use the term "cult" to label any belief system that themselves disagree with. All religions are cults.

Ummm..I'm not pulling a James Dobson. He is literally anti-family. I'm stating that as a fact, not as a smear. Have you been to his website?
